At the end of the holidays, having been away from the classroom for a number of years, I turned my attention to getting into the right mindset for the first semester. It was at this moment that an unexpected invitation to participate in the Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) training course presented itself.
Innovative Learning and Teaching recently hosted the annual Learn Do Share event for an enthusiastic and participative audience. Learn Do Share allows teaching staff to share experiences with teaching technologies alongside tips and techniques which they’ve found effective in teaching and teaching support.

Video screen capture is a quick way to create a video of everything that appears on a computer screen, along with audio narration and sometimes webcam video of a presenter. It can be a flexible teaching tool for communicating to students inside and outside of the classroom.

As part of Innovative Learning and Teaching’s monthly seminar series, I recently presented a session exploring team-based learning (TBL) with a group of teaching staff at the Business School. My aim was to allow the group to explore why and when TBL does (or doesn’t) work.
The mid-year learning and teaching workshop is a new event, focused on sharing current international practice and scholarship in the areas of learning and teaching.
